BALANCE - A Guitar Stand
Guitar Stand
As a person leans their guitar back into the stand the stand accepts and cushions the guitar. The weight of the guitar determines how far back the stand moves to provide support. As the weight of the guitar increases the stand leans further back. The stand serves as a shock-absorber to soften the contact between the guitar and the stand.
Music box
For my wife who had trouble sleeping; a lullaby by Brahms. For the tool to play the music, a display case. The case is formed of Cocobolo wood with laminations of Bass and Blood wood. The box become the display for the mechanism. Inset black leather bumpers soften the closing of the top.
CD Stands
The exploration of the object can reinforce the thoughts prevalent in a space. Each of the designs for the compact disk stands, below, in some way describes the significance of a single CD over the rest. Since only one piece of music can be playing at a time, the case of the featured CD becomes that displayed by the stand.
